Koto no Ito’ is a deciduous shrub or small tree with interesting trailing leaves composed of 5 to 7 narrow straplike lobes. They emerge crimson in spring before quickly turning bright green. The leaves reward you with a vibrant yellow-orange show in the fall. The bark is bright green which adds interest to the winter landscape. Slow growing, this semi-dwarf japanese maple has an upright rounded habit. ‘Koto no Ito’ means golden old harp.
