Asparagus retrofractus is one of several houseplants from Southern Africa commonly called Asparagus Ferns. But despite this common name, it's not a true fern at all. This ornamental species has green, pom-pom-shaped leaflike clusters called cladophylls that eventually start to drape over the sides of the pot. This plant has an extensive root system and can handle heavy pruning to keep it the shape you prefer. Light: Place in bright, indirect light. Water: Allow to dry slightly between waterings. Water when first 1-2” of soil feels dry to the touch, or at first sign of wilt. Thrives in high humidity. Yellowing needles that drop typically means the plant needs more light or water
