Larix kaempferi 'Pevé Tunnis' is a dwarf selection of Japanese larch with a distinctive appearance. It looks like a flattened disk of layered branching holding soft, light Blue-green foliage that turns golden yellow before being shed in the fall. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 10 inches (25 cm) tall and 18 inches (45 cm) wide, an annual growth rate of 1 to 2 inches (2.5 - 5 cm). Specimens present exceptionally well when grafted a bit high on a stem giving the effect of a hovering flying saucer.
