This cultivar is part of the Oncidium Volcano Midnight grex, a cross between Oncidium Kilauea and Oncidium noezlianum, created by Akatsuka Orchid Gardens in the 1990s
Small, bright orange to near-black velvety blooms depending on the clone. The 'Volcano Queen' AM/AOS clone is especially prized for its dramatic coloration.
