Solanum pyracanthos, commonly known as the Porcupine Tomato, is a striking ornamental nightshade from Madagascar, instantly recognizable for its bright orange, needle‑sharp thorns and lavender flowers. It is not edible and is toxic to humans and pets. 

Solanum pyracanthos (Porcupine Tomato) typically grows 3–5 ft tall and 2–3 ft wide at maturity when grown in the ground. If grown in smaller containers, it often stays shorter—around 20–24 inches—because root restriction limits its size
